Riverchase Elementary School

HI! My name is Patti Tanner. I've served as the counselor of Riverchase Elementary since 2010. Prior to becoming a counselor, I was a teacher for 13 years! I received my undergraduate degrees in Finance and Elementary Education from Samford University and have Master's degrees in Elementary Education and Counseling from the University of Alabama-Birmingham. I am married. My husband and I have four children and three grandchildren. We also have a dog named Molly. 

I love being a school counselor! I love getting to watch students as they grow from Kindergarten to Fifth grade. I love hearing how they think and helping them problem solve and develop strategies for living life in a healthy and happy way. Getting to know them and their families is a privilege and I am so thankful for the opportunity to partner with parents on their journey through elementary school with their child. 

In my freetime I enjoy church activities, spending time with my family, traveling, going to musicals, being outdoors and reading. I am glad you visited this page.
